Our guide to London: National Maritime Museum

Comprising three sites: the Maritime Galleries, the Royal Observatory and the Queen’s House, the National Maritime Museum illustrates the importance of the sea, ships, time and the stars and their relationship with people.

Located in Greenwich on Romney Road and housed in the old Naval Asylum the various themed galleries include hands-on galleries where you can attempt to navigate a catamaran, a paddle steamer and a rowing boat to shore.  An integral part of the museum is Inigo Jones’s Queen’s House: the first Neoclassical building in the country.
